STAFFING NOTICE: The smash-hit burlesque comedy parody The Empire Strips Back will be coming to Houston starting January 25th, 2025. NX5 Theatrical is accepting submissions for (1) Rehearsal Production Assistant position.

POSITION SUMMARY: Production Assistant
PAY: $25 Hourly (taxable), 9 am - 5 pm with unpaid hour lunch

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: January 25th - January 29th, January 31st - Feb 2nd

We are only accepting applications from Production Assistants local to the Houston area.

This position is standard as understood within the industry. Duties include:

-Checking in dancers and contacting anybody running late
-Sweeping the studios if necessary (though usually handled by the venue)
-Spike the stage and touch up spike marks throughout rehearsals as needed
-Setting up director table, costume and prop tables in the rehearsal halls
-Recording video of runs (on your own phone) and posting to a WhatsApp group
-Sending out a nightly report by email
-Packing away costumes and props at the end of each day
-Moving between two studios to call dancers for rehearsals between the two spaces
-Working with director/choreographer to call breaks, keep track of end of day to make sure studio is cleared on time
-Checking at the end of each day to make sure all company belongings have been moved to storage or packed out

REQUIREMENTS:
- Some knowledge of dance, theater or film is ideal.
- You'll be required to have your own phone for recording act runs (3-5 minute videos and can be deleted after posting). - Nightly report can be sent from your phone if you don't have a laptop.
A car is necessary should any errands need to be run (with mileage reimbursed at $.67/mile).
