About This Position
Virginia Theatre Festival is seeking a Company Manager for our Summer 2026 season to support the administrative staff with all aspects of managing a 90+ member company; serve as primary liaison between company members and staff; and ensure that both artistic and institutional goals are implemented and realized. This position reports to the Finance and Administration Director and will have the support of an Assistant Company Manager.
Qualified candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to organize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team situation. Pay Rate - $22.50/hour
Remote Week - May 11-May 15, 2026 (25 hours)
In-person Contract Dates - May 18-July 30, 2026
Work Authorization Requirement - US work authorization is required.
Work Schedule +ndash; This position will begin with 1-week of remote work for 25 hours. For in-person work beginning May 18, the weekly schedules will vary between ~30-40+ hours/week, in response to workload and production needs. Employees are eligible for overtime pay with managerial approval for any hours worked over 40 per week. Day, weekend, and evening hours are required.
Housing - We will provide housing to seasonal employees who are based out-of-town (with a home address 50 miles or greater from our theatre) or are a current UVA student. Housing will be located within walking distance of our theatres. Housing is not pet-friendly.
Job Duties
Serve as an integral leader in the experience of visiting artists and staff.
Act as the main point of contact for company members during their VTF contract, including leading company-wide communications and updates, fielding requests, overseeing move-in, first-day, and move-out needs, and troubleshooting any issues with VTF leadership as needed.
Coordinate company-wide meetings and events; duties include preparing logistics, assigning tasks, space prep and breakdown, and creating signage, invitations, and guest lists.
Supervise and support the Assistant Company Manager.
Coordinate, arrange, and prepare company housing; duties include organizing and tracking housing supplies, transporting supplies from VTF office to company housing, staging/prepping housing (kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms), etc.
Oversee housing maintenance requests and serve as the main point of contact between Housing contacts and VTF company members.
Coordinate, arrange, and cover arrival + departure transportation from train station/airport to housing as well as pre-scheduled, regular group grocery/shopping runs.
Purchase supplies, track spending, and submit expense reports with proper documentation.
Troubleshoot issues in an efficient and professional manner, in consultation with and with guidance from VTF leadership.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical + Travel Requirements:
This position requires a valid driver+rsquo;s license with a clean driving record to operate a VTF-leased vehicle in support of staging housing and supporting the transportation needs of company members.
This position also requires the ability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
The role also involves frequent walking and standing, including travel by foot between housing locations, rehearsal spaces, performance venues, and administrative locations.
