The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) was founded in 1935 in Ashland, OR, and has grown from a three-day festival of two plays to a nationally renowned theatre arts organization that presents a rotating repertory season of up to 10 plays and musicals, including illuminating interpretations of Shakespeare, other enduring classics, and new works. OSF productions have been presented on Broadway, internationally, and at regional, community, and high school theatres across the country. OSF received the 1983 Special Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre and is one of the largest nonprofit theatres in the nation with three stages, including an outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions +ndash; see below**):
1. Model and support the mission and values of OSF by:
a. Demonstrating inclusive behavior.
b. Maintaining a safe working environment free from any aggressions.
c. Recognizing micro-aggressions and interrupting behaviors that hinder OSF+rsquo;s diversity and inclusion efforts.
2. Assist the Lighting Department Manager in the daily supervision, instruction, and discipline of Lighting Department staff.
3. Create weekly Lighting Department schedules for load-ins, hangs, focuses, notes, maintenance, changeovers, work calls, show calls, special events, and mid- and end of season strikes.
4. Collaborate with the Lighting Department Manager, Repertory Lighting Designer and Lead Electricians, to evaluate all rep and show lighting plots for efficacy and maintainability throughout the season.
5. Work with the Department Manager and Lead Electricians, to instruct crew in the safe installation/use of; all lighting equipment, lighting consoles, departmental SOPs, show-specific practical's/electrics, special effects equipment, counterweight arbor fly systems, and permanent or temporary rigging apparatus.
6. Attend load-ins, focuses, technical rehearsals, previews and work calls.
7. Attend appropriate meetings, including strategic, production and departmental meetings.
8. Collaborate effectively with designers and other members of the production team to implement all lighting-related elements and special effects, with an emphasis on creative problem-solving.
9. In collaboration with scenery, props, costumes, etc. create plans/drawings for set mount electrics, and electrified props and costumes.
10. Conduct testing and documents haze/atmospheric results per AEA requirements.
11. Participate in yearly performance evaluations for all department staff.
12. Plan for, organize and supervise regular and long-term maintenance.
13. Maintains accurate, up-to-date inventory of all lighting and special effects equipment.
14. Track lifespan of equipment and, with input from the Lighting Department Manager, plan and budget for replacements and regular and/or capital upgrades.
15. Coordinate with other production departments as necessary to facilitate an efficient, collaborative workflow.
16. Participate in special projects, including the installation of lighting and other equipment for fundraisers, special events, promotions, etc.
17. Maintain an orderly and safe work environment.

Supervisory/Leadership experience:
Experience working as a Head/Lead/Master Electrician, preferably in a regional theater environment.+nbsp;
Experience directing and supervising Union electricians/crews.

Experience and Knowledge:
Advanced working knowledge of current theatrical lighting technologies and safety regulations, conventional, LED and intelligent lighting fixtures, atmospherics equipment, strobes, wireless dimming, networking equipment, ETC EOS Family Lighting consoles, Augment3d/other visualizer software.+nbsp;
Experience with video systems/Watchout/media servers, OSC, MIDI, SMPTE timecode protocols.
Expert level knowledge of ETC family consoles and dimmers, ETC Paradigm.+nbsp;
Advanced knowledge and use of Lightwright and Vectorworks.
Proficient in operation and troubleshooting of Macintosh and Windows computer systems.+nbsp;
Familiar with the Microsoft 365 suite and associated apps.
Working in a rotating repertory system with variable schedules.+nbsp;
Ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues in sometimes stressful situations.
Collaborate effectively with leadership, department heads, staff, interns, guest artists and other professionals.
Work effectively, both independently and in a team setting.
Performs administrative duties such as:+nbsp;
Reimbursements, purchasing, shopping, injury forms, managing a credit card.
Monitors and updates online scheduling software for payroll and other purposes.+nbsp;
Collaborates with other managers to enforce safety policies and delivery of required and/or updated training.

Work Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience specializing in lighting design or electrics in a theatrical or live event environment, plus three (3) years of experience as a crew leader in a professional theater, live event, or other qualifying supervisory role.
Physical: Repeatedly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.; climb stairs and ladders; work effectively at significant elevations such as grids, outdoor lighting positions, ladders up to 24+rsquo; tall, and lifts up to 36+rsquo; high; sit and stand for long periods; hold and operate hand, air and power tools; repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, squat and crouch; work in confined spaces; use keyboards, mice, touchpads and other control surfaces.
Hours Requirements: Night-time and weekend hours are regularly required. The standard work week is Tuesday through Sunday. The ability to work a variable or split-shift schedule is often required. This position is classified Exempt per FSLA.
