Job responsibilities:
-Build scenery according to technical drawings and as directed by the Technical Director or Lead Carpenter
-Load-in and strike scenic elements for each production
-Ensure secure and safe rigging of all scenery
-Assist the Lead Carpenter and Technical Director in maintaining safety in the scene shop and theater
-Work with scene shop interns and guide them through assigned projects
-Willingly assist other departments as needed including projects related to the well being and maintenance of our property
-Evening show duties are assigned as each show demands. These include helping in our
patron parking lots, ushering, bartending, concessions, etc.

Skills:
-Understanding of theatrical practices
-Team-oriented attitude
-Excellent communication skills
-Working knowledge of scenery construction best practices
-Ability to handle fast-paced scenic builds, load-ins and strikes
-Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
-Knowledge and safe use of all power tools
-Intermediate rigging knowledge
-Finish carpentry skills, including molding and trim work
-Ability to work at heights
-Ability to lift 75 lbs
-Bachelor's degree in related field or commensurate experience
-1+ years professional experience in similar environment/position

Additional desired skills:
-MIG welding experience
-Valid U.S. driver's license

Staff arrival date on campus is May 17th, 2026 with the first day of work commencing on May 18th 2026. Departure date is October 21st, 2026, which is after our final show closes and the property is closed down. An earlier departure date may be discussed as necessary.

The rate for this position is $550 - $650 per week, based on skills and experience. Travel stipend provided. All positions are housed on property, at no cost. Meals are provided at a cost of $95/week.
