Stagecraft Theatrical, a professional scene shop in Dayton Ohio is seeking a shop lead and carpenter.

This position is indoors, in a rental shop but still offers the flexibility to take other gigs. Some working weeks are 40+ hours, others are 20 hours. There is flexibility on many weeks to make your own schedule but with the benefit of constant steady work.



Responsibilities include constructing new sets, repairing existing sets, leading truck loading and crews, cart packing and unpacking, verifying set condition and identifying repairs needed and overall organization.

Being that this is a scenic rental shop, the successful applicant will the following qualifications:

+bull; quick to learn
+bull; be a good finish level carpenter with theatrical experience
+bull; experience properly loading trucks
+bull; well organized
+bull; be comfortable leading a crew and ensuring they comply with schedules to get projects done on time
+bull; have good troubleshooting skills
+bull; have fabrication experience
+bull; Have the ability to read blueprints and interpret 3D models
+bull; ability to be a self starter and complete projects on time
+bull; helping to ensure safety
+bull; meet stated production deadlines
+bull; keep good and consistent communication with the office on status of projects
+bull; ability to lift 50+lbs

Skills that are not required but would be a bonus are:
+bull; Any type of scenic painting skills
+bull; Ability to weld
