Overview
We are seeking a skilled Theatrical Costume Stitcher to join our creative team. This role is essential in bringing characters to life through the art of costume design and fabrication. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sewing and fabric manipulation, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for theatrical arts. You will work closely with designers and other team members to ensure that costumes meet the artistic vision and quality standards required for productions.

Responsibilities

- Construct, alter, and repair costumes according to design specifications.
- Operate sewing machines and other equipment to fabricate costume pieces.
- Collaborate with costume designers to understand the artistic vision and technical requirements.
- Perform quality inspections on completed garments to ensure they meet production standards.
- Handle materials efficiently, including cutting, fitting, and finishing garments.
Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Assist in the management of inventory related to fabrics and costume supplies.
- Participate in fittings with performers to make necessary adjustments for comfort and appearance.

Experience

- Proven experience in sewing, particularly with theatrical or fashion garments.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including materials handling.
- Experience with commercial sewing machines is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent quality inspection skills.
- A background in fabricating various types of costumes is highly desirable.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.25 per hour
