Upstaging Inc. is looking to add an LED specialist to our Fabrications team.
This is a hybrid role focused on the planning and installation of LED tape, Low voltage electronics, LED Video Panels, and related controls in custom set, prop, and signage fabrications for our clients. This role will also assist with other fabrications projects as needed when LED related work is slow.

This is a fulltime permanent position located in our shop in Sycamore, Illinois.

Hours for the position: Monday through Friday, 8:30am until 5:30pm, with an hour lunch, and morning and afternoon breaks.

Required skills for the position:
-2 to 5 years progressive experience working on the installation of LED lighting, LED tapes, LED video products, low voltage electronics, and assorted control systems.
-Ability to collaborate with a team on custom LED lighting and video panel designs.
-Ability to read and work from technical designs with a high degree of precision.
-Experience in designing and building sets, props, kiosks, trade show booths, pop displays or other public display projects.

DUTIES
-Work directly with Fabrication staff in executing design and construction of LED projects.
-Assist other fabrication teams with projects as needed.
-Work with materials such as wood, laminate, foam plastics, various composites and metal.
-Travel to client sites to assist with installations and technical support. (Day rates, per diems, and expenses covered for all work outside the shop)
-Working safely and efficiently

QUALIFICATIONS
-2 to 5 years progressive hands on experience installing LED lighting, LED tape, low voltage electronics, LED video panels, and related control equipment.
-Experience in technical theater, and large stage productions.
-BFA in Theatrical Design/Fabrications preferred.
-Knowledge of set construction, rigging, carpentry, welding and scenic painting are a plus.
-Knowledge working with a wide variety of materials including metals, wood, plastics and composites a plus.
-Ability to collaborate on designs from concept, to technical drawings and blueprints.
-Working knowledge of Autocad is a plus.
-Ability to work safely and be conscientious of others is required.
-Proficiency with hand and power tools
-Basic knowledge of scenery construction.
-Basic rigging knowledge

-Ability to work overtime when needed
-Able to lift at least 50lbs
