The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Audio Engineer 2 (A2) to join our production team. The A2 will support the A1 and Sound Designer in the setup, operation, and maintenance of sound equipment for theatrical performances. This role requires a strong understanding of audio engineering, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure high-quality audio production.

Responsibilities:

Support for Sound Board Operation:
-Assist the A1 in operating the sound board during rehearsals and performances.
-Monitor audio levels and provide real-time adjustments as needed.
-Help ensure all audio cues are executed accurately and on time.

Audio System Setup and Maintenance:
-Assist in setting up and configuring sound equipment, including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, and playback devices.
-Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of audio equipment to ensure optimal performance.
-Maintain an organized inventory of audio equipment and accessories.

Collaboration and Communication:
-Work closely with the A1, Sound Designer, Directors, and other production staff to implement sound designs.
-Attend rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and note sessions as required.
-Provide feedback and suggestions to improve audio design and operations.

Programming and Sound Design:
-Assist in programming the sound board for rehearsals and performances, ensuring accurate execution of sound cues.
-Collaborate with the Sound Designer to create and modify audio sequences.
-Document sound board settings and configurations for each production.

Safety and Compliance:
-Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures when handling sound equipment.
-Ensure all audio operations comply with industry safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

-Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in live sound production, preferably in a theatrical setting.
-Associate+rsquo;s degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or a related field preferred; Bachelor+rsquo;s degree is a plus.
-Proficiency with digital and analog sound equipment, including mixing consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Allen + Heath, DiGiCo).
-Strong understanding of audio signal flow, acoustics, and sound system setup.
-Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
-Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as required by production schedules.
-Physical ability to lift and move heavy sound equipment.

Compensation and Benefits:

-Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
-Compensation: $16 per hour
