Chicago Children's Theatre is seeking a part-time Lighting Supervisor and part-time Assistant Lighting Supervisor. These are part-time, seasonal positions, paid hourly.

CCT is Chicago's premiere AEA TYA company working with professional artists and technicians to create high-quality work for child audiences. CCT's space at 100 S Racine Ave, in the West Loop, is a flexible 125-seat blackbox theatre. The grid is 12' and is accessible from ladders or scaffolds. We have an ETC Ion board, and an inventory of primarily incandescent fixtures (Pars, Source4s) with a few LEDs and Intelligent Fixtures (Rogue R2s, Epars, Source4 Lustrs, VL 3500s).

Responsibilities include:
- Attending and participating in design and production meetings.
- Creating all paperwork required for the successful implementation of each production's lighting design.
- Scheduling and leading lighting hang, focus, and work calls, managing crews and working independently.
- Installing specialized and set mount lighting, including LED tape and practicals.
- Managing the lighting budget for each production, including tracking overhire hours and materials purchases.
- Programming our Ion console during tech and completing notes independently during the tech and preview process.
- Responding to problems during the show run and resolving them in a timely manner.
- Striking each show and designing and restoring a rep plot to be used in between productions by camps and education classes.
- Running the board for productions as required, or hiring board operators
- Assistant will support supervisor in all these tasks, split up tech days to lessen the schedule for each, and will split board-op duties.


Desired skills include:
- Experience in doing electrics work independently, including hanging and focusing fixtures, troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance.
- Experience programming LED and moving instruments on an Ion console
- Experience installing LED tape and other practical lighting+nbsp;
- Experience leading crews (3-4 people)

The Lighting Supervisor position will be paid at $26/hr. Work calls are paid on 4 hour minimums, meetings are paid on 2 hour minimums, show calls are paid at 3 hour minimums. Work from home or running errands is paid time. You will be paid as an employee of CCT on a bi-weekly basis.All hours over 40 in a given week are paid at time-and-a-half.

We will also be hiring an assistant lighting supervisor - who will work alongside the lighting supervisor at work calls, and split tech and preview hours with the supervisor. Assistant Supervisor Position will be paid at $25/hour. If you're also interested in this position, please let us know.

Standard CCT tech schedule is Thurs-Sun, 12p-8p or 10a-8p each day
Standard CCT preview schedule is Tues-Fri, 10a previews, 12p-3p tech rehearsals
Standard CCT show schedule is Weds-Fri, 10a and 12p, Sat-Sun 9:30a and 11:30a shows
Most shows are about one hour long.
