JOB DESCRIPTION:
Theatre-By-the-Sea (TBTS) is a traditional summer stock theater on the scenic southern Rhode Island coast. All performances take place in a barn, first converted into a playhouse, in 1933. It has undergone many improvements over the years and is now listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. It seats 392 patrons including a balcony. We feature a four musical season, as well as a weekly concert and children+rsquo;s theater series. We employ both Equity and non-Equity actors.
TBTS seeks an Audio Assistant (A2) for their 2024 summer season. Working under the guidance of the Sound Designer and the Audio Engineer(A1), the ideal candidate will have strong collaboration, communication, and technical skills and be able to maintain high quality and standards in a safe and supportive work environment while working on tight timeline.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The A2 will:
+bull; help with all sound operations, including equipment load-in, change overs and strikes, for all musicals, concert series and children+rsquo;s shows.
+bull; serve as member of each production+rsquo;s run crew, responsible for assisting actors with attaching lavaliers and belt packs
+bull; maintaining a constant source of freshly charged batteries, for each performance, all mics packs are charged and ready for sound check
+bull; assuring sound check on stage is completed in a timely and productive fashion
+bull; serve as backstage eyes and ears for A1, monitoring wireless RF signals and problem-solving other issues as they arise. Communicating clearly and concisely what the circumstances of each problem are to the A1.
+bull; make sure all wireless mics and belt packs are maintained, sanitized and returned properly after every performance. Problems are reported and fixed promptly
+bull; have two years of college (or relevant work experience), mixing experience is desirable.
+bull; have experience in digital soundboard operations and familiarity with audio signal paths, routing and troubleshooting under guidance
