STAGES St. Louis, a professional musical theatre company entering our 39th season, is seeking an Artistic Assistant/Company Manager to join our team. The 2025 Season will take place at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center and will consist of three musical productions: MURDER FOR TWO, pre-Broadway production AUSTEN'S PRIDE, and BEAUTIFUL: A CAROLE KING STORY.

Dates for this position are:
- March 17 - April 13 (part time)
- April 14 - October 24 (full time)
- Dates are semi flexible.

The Artistic Assistant/Company Manager's duty is to support the commitment to preserving and advancing the art form of Musical Theatre by assisting the Artistic Director and Artistic General Manager in ensuring the wellbeing of all STAGES' guest Artists and supporting all artistic initiatives across the organization.

Essential Functions:
Oversee all company management needs including, but not limited to:
- Arranging all travel and housing needs for guest Artists, Stage Management, and Creative Team members
- Arranging local transportation for incoming and outgoing Artists on airport travel days and throughout the Season
- Assisting with any company meals for Artists and Technicians
- Creating welcome packets and managing the hospitality needs of company members
- Checking in with Actors and Technicians on a weekly basis, and assisting with any medical issues that may arise
- Cultivating a strong familiarity with the following areas: Chesterfield, Kirkwood, Creve Coeur
- Attending design, production, and other meetings and maintaining supportive collaboration with Department leaders as needed
- Assisting the Artistic Director with duties as assigned.
- Assisting the Artistic General Manager with the following responsibilities:
- Tracking and maintaining the annual Artistic budget.
- Processing all Actor and Creative personal contracts for the season.
- Helping with Actor and Production payroll, all contracts, royalties, credit card reconciliations, worker's compensation reports and budgeting.
- Conducting research to assist the Artistic General Manager in licensing all professional seasonal productions.
- Onboarding all Artists.
- Creating and maintaining a Seasonal Staff emergency contact sheet.
- Sharing the on-call duty, which entails being available via the Company Management cell phone and STAGES email according to the on-call schedule during the Season when guest Artists are in St. Louis. Sick and personal days will be scheduled as needed on a case-by-case basis.
- Assist Artistic General Manager with all artistic and staffing needs for any STAGES' Special Events.

Other Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of personal performance and development to encourage professional growth.
- General administrative work as required.
- Exhibit enthusiasm toward the job and company, to both internal and external customers, in all forms of communication.

Education, Experience, and Skill Level required:
- Bachelor's degree in theatre preferred or equivalent work experience as an administrative assistant or company manager.
- Customer Service experience required.
- Experience required with typical office equipment, as well as Microsoft Office programs including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with other programs such as Canva, JotForm, SignupGenius is a plus.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and flexible schedule are required.
- Must be able to respond with flexibility to both the needs of various collaborators and to rapidly changing circumstances and personalities.
- Familiarity with unions (A.E.A., U.S.A., S.D.C., and A.F.M.) is beneficial, but not required.
- Local candidates only, as housing is not provided.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee must be able to share the 24/7 on-call duty.

Compensation:
Compensation starting at $18/hour, determined upon experience. Due to a Missouri State Statue exemption, seasonal employees are paid overtime at 1 1/2 times their rate after 48 hours worked in a given work week. All seasonal positions are paid biweekly on Fridays.
