CLASSIFICATION DESCRIPTION
Performs technical work in preparing for, executing and striking technical production needs for a variety of entertainment events; does related work as required. Regularly interacts with renters, performers, patrons and other City staff. Work is generally performed in The Hemmens Cultural Center; however, work may be required to be performed in any number of locations throughout the City. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Technical Supervisor.

This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, and some heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to successfully provide audio support for users; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arms length, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise, and hazards

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Assisting in preparation, production and restoration activities; participating in technical services.
Setting up and operating lighting and sound equipment;
Setting up tables, chairs and other event equipment;
Providing technical support for rehearsals for rental and City sponsored productions;
Preparing and setting up of scenery;
Operation of City owned motor vehicles, including but not limited to, cargo vans, ATVs, electric burden carriers, etc.;
Cleaning, maintaining and repairing event equipment;
Cleaning, maintaining and repairing facility structures, fixtures and equipment;
Maintaining and updating follow-up notes for events;
Coordinate sound equipment and perform FOH +/or monitor mixing duties for events as assigned;
Download, edit and arrange files for playback though Q-Lab multimedia playback software;
Assist Technical Supervisor in maintaining audio inventory;
At the discretion of the Technical Supervisor and/or Cultural Center Director, employees may be required to perform special assignments;
Performing related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, tools and techniques of theatre production; thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions of the work. Ability to clearly communicate with renters, performers, patrons and other City staff in a professional manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Valid Illinois Driver+rsquo;s License required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hours vary based on event schedule. Hours to include weekends and evenings.
