Job Description: Shoreside Costume Technician

Royal Caribbean Productions is seeking talented, skilled costume technicians to assist with refurbishment and alterations to our Broadway productions here in our North Miami Production Studios. Ideal candidates will be experienced in costume construction, tailoring, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is a contract-based position and does not require boarding a cruise ship. Most contracts range from 2-4 weeks, with some lasting longer, depending on needs.

Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance on costumes. This may include cleaning, repair, and
refurbishment. (i.e., patching, zipper replacement, beading, etc.)
- Fit and alter costumes for a variety of actors and performers.
- Assist with the care of all costumes including hand sewing, machine stitching,
and tailoring.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with
other production team members.
- Help with organization and cleanliness of the workspace.

There will be paid travel to and from the Production Studios in North Miami, Florida, and housing can be provided, upon availability, for anyone not local.

Costume Technicians must bring their own sewing machine and any preferred tools, like scissors/snips, pin cushions, etc. A fully stocked sewing area is provided.

Requirements:
- Full COVID-19 vaccination required.
- Must have at minimum, 5 years of costuming, tailoring, or related experience. Costume construction patterning experience a plus.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- A background check is also required.

This is an independent contractor position. Daily rate will be based on experience. Length on contracts are dependent upon company needs.
