Production Manager/Technical Director of CK Performing Arts Venues
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position will support the Executive Director of Community Relations and act to professionally facilitate in-district and community use of CKSD Performing Arts Venues, overseeing, configuring, programming, and operating audio, lighting, video, rigging, scenery, and props, and managing student crew and community volunteers as appropriate and/or necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assumes primary responsibility for the scheduling, planning, and execution of all events at the Central Kitsap Performing Arts Venue as assigned. Serves as the +ldquo;day of event person in charge+rdquo; of the execution of the Central Kitsap Performing Arts Venues events.
2. Maintains a clear understanding of all aspects of production in order to facilitate scenic, lighting, video, and sound needs throughout the build, rehearsal, technical rehearsal, running, and closing of each production and special event.
3. Set design, construction, and theatrical carpentry +ndash; may include designing, building, painting and/or assembling scenery and managing students at various levels of expertise in the design and execution of scenic elements, as appropriate to the production and skill level of those involved.
4. Sound system configuration and operation +ndash; responsible for sound production for events, including the configuration and stage setup of microphones (wireless and wired), monitor speakers and control equipment, programming of audio console, as well as the production of sound effects and playback of audio tracks.
5. Lighting design and light board programming and operation, spotlight operation, hanging and maintenance of stage lighting instruments as well as various other electrical jobs +ndash; responsible for onstage lighting including, but not limited to: practicals, stage lighting and spotlights, moving lights, basic moving light maintenance and repair. Responsible for the appropriate programming and execution of lighting for events.
6. Rigging of Stage and Scenic Elements +ndash; Responsible for equipment, scenery, backdrops hung (flown) in the theater space (with fly system and without), proper setup and strike of the +ldquo;Marley+rdquo; dance floor, coordination of the removal and replacement of the orchestra pit cover, setup and strike of orchestra shells, risers, platforms, and other scenic and staging elements as needed.
7. Video Preparation and Playback +ndash; Execute basic video editing and creative efforts to produce video backdrops and visual effects as needed.
8. Ability to regularly engage with and mentor Entertainment Production classes and interns in association with a teacher of record. Instructs and leads in the design and execution of sets, lights and sound for all major high school productions. This includes, but is not limited to: initial sketches, floor plans, construction drawings, elevations, lighting and sound plots.
9.Collaborates with the teacher of record to implement software training lessons. Works with students and interns onstage during class time to provide hands-on instruction in lighting, sound, video, stagecraft, and rigging as possible and as appropriate to the events taking place at the time.
10. Assists the drama and music instruction with safety demonstrations for students on theater operations, lighting, sound, rigging and set construction.
11. Guides students and student groups in the safe operation of lighting, sound, video, scenic, prop, and costume-associated tasks including the general upkeep of CKSD Performing Arts Venues, including storage spaces, costume and prop libraries, and shop spaces.
12. Responsible for ensuring audio equipment, staging, rigging, video, and lighting systems are well-maintained.
13. Maintains an inventory of equipment; orders and maintains equipment and supplies in accordance with Business Office budgetary requirements, works to ensure fiscal responsibility with regard to purchasing, use, and maintenance of all equipment and assets.
14. Excellent customer service skills; maintains a cooperative work environment with all constituent groups, educates all users in the safe use and best practices within performing arts venues. Ready and able to assist in box office operations, ticket scanning, usher management, and other FOH duties as needed.
15. Provides and maintains a safe working environment, including managing and providing training, equipment, record keeping and incident reporting.
16. Provides supervision and mentoring of student stage techs when required; ability to supervise student crews.
17. Uphold and assist in enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and board policy.
18. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, material and facilities.
19. Requires the use of multiple communication and technology systems, which may include electronic mail, computers, document cameras, smart boards, and web-based resources.
20. Complies with all district policies and Code of Professional Conduct.
21. Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
+bull; Bachelor+rsquo;s degree in theatre with a technical emphasis combined with work experience in all technical areas required. Ideally the candidate would possess a master+rsquo;s in fine arts with a theatrical design/tech specialty.
+bull; A minimum of 3 years+rsquo; experience working in various technical production roles preferred.
+bull; Must be highly self-directed with little supervision.
+bull; Collaborative skills with a strong customer service focus.
+bull; Hours are flexibly scheduled and dependent upon event needs. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays to support theater operations.
+bull; Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds; climb vertical ladders; move in the catwalk and grid areas; work at heights up to 30 feet and be comfortable on a fully grated grids at 60+rsquo;.
+bull; Essential software skills include: Vectorworks, Sketchup, QLab, Audacity, Garageband, ETC Eos/Nomad, digital audio (Allen + Heath SQ series preferred, but not critical), Capture, various Ticketing, Propared Production Management, Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Premier, Photoshop), TheatreMix and various MTI, Concord, or other proprietary playback applications,.
+bull; Software/hardware typically used would be ETC Ion/Gio consoles, Capture Previsualization, ETC Paradigm Houselight/Worklight controllers
+bull; Skilled in use of email for communication; general proficiency in Google and Office Suites; willingness and desire to learn new software.
+bull; Demonstrated interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with community members, staff and students.
+bull; Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people in a multicultural and diverse socio-economic setting.
+bull; Ability to maintain confidentiality per district policy and state and federal laws.
