This internship is designed to give challenging, practical experience to enhance the student's academic program, provide a well-rounded, hands on experience of how a show is executed in various venues using a variety of equipment and lighting effects. Working with experienced master electrician, audio engineer, sound designers and other scenic and technical professionals will guarantee an understanding of team work and how each production department affects the final output of a project. Work alongside seasoned professionals, adhere to directions, timelines, tasks, and additional responsibilities as communicated by the audio engineer, sound designer or master electrician; participate in all sound system and projection setups and installation, and performing general maintenance of sound and projection equipment; support master electrician during light hang + focus in all venues as needed; serve as board op or run crew on all shows as assigned; assist with load-ins, cleaning, repairs, changeovers and strike week.

Qualified applicants should be currently enrolled in an university theatre or entertainment program; have a basic knowledge of sound mixing, QLab, Clearcom; have experience in electrics; willingness to work at heights and tight places; a strong understanding of theatre and production practices; board op experience a strong willingness to learn; a calm confident presence during chaotic production periods; a positive, collaborative attitude; self-motivated with a strong team orientation; ability to multi-task and work well under pressure; ability to manage shifting and competing priorities; exercise good judgment and discretion; ability to work productively and meet deadlines in an environment of change, creative process and rigorous time management; a willingness to work hard as part of a team. Valid driver's license and personal vehicle preferred. This position is seasonal full time with on-site residency required.

Housing provided if non-local.

Work Environment:
Ability to work long hours and work with a flexible schedule.
Willingness to work in multiple venues.
May have to work at heights, in small spaces, around moving machinery, and with exposure to noise, vibration, and dust.
Ability to work safely in an environment containing potentially hazardous electrical equipment, fumes, and/or materials.
Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and/or walking.
