Bill Hanneys Theatre by the Sea in Matunuck RI is seeking an experienced summer theatre Company Manager for the 2025 season. Candidate must be a hard working team player with a strong work ethic and sense of humor. Should be a self starter with initiative and problem solving skills and a positive attitude. Should be prepared to work long, odd hours at times. Night and weekend work required.
Candidate should have the ability to multi task in a fast paced setting

Should be an energetic person who is able to thrive in a demanding environment.


Candidate should be willing to assume other job responsibilities if called upon to do so.

A valid drivers license and clean driving record is a must as is the ability to drive a 12-15 passenger van. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the coordination of travel for actors and guest artists as well as arranging and preparing hospitality for up to 55 people. In addition the Company Management team will monitor and help in maintaining/cleaning the Company Housing if needed. Company Management team will also be responsible for doing the changeover of rooms from one show to the next as needed. Company management team will prepare all housing before actors and crew arrive. Emergency response/dispatch for housing problems.


Facilitating hospitality/meals for tech and during change-overs

Both the company manager and assistant will be responsible for driving actors to and from all rehearsals and performances as needed. Pick up and drop off at train station and airport as well.


Assist with the Children's Series, hospitality, travel and housing.

Supervising and working closely with the Assistant Company Manager.

The ability to treat confidential information with discretion.

The ability to comfortably and effectively cope with change.

The ability to make good decisions and stay relaxed and proactive when things are uncertain

Petty cash reconciliation, preparing workman's comp forms and accident reports. Scheduling doctors appointments as needed and taking people to medical appointments and to the hospital if needed.

This job requires excellent people and organizational skills. Excellent computer skills required as well.

Company Manager will also at times work with and report to the Producer, Artistic Director, Associate Producer, General Manager, Production Manager and Stage Mgmt to ensure that the artistic and administrative standards and policies of Theatre by the Sea are maintained.

Housing and travel is provided.
