This position is full time with on-site residency required.
This internship is designed to give challenging, practical experience to enhance the student's academic program, provide a well-rounded, hands on experience of how a show is executed through the different areas of a modern day costume shop. Working with experienced stitchers, first hands and other costume professionals will guarantee an understanding of team work and how each production department affects the final output of a project. Work alongside seasoned professionals, adhere to directions, timelines, tasks, and additional responsibilities as communicated by the Costume Shop Manager, Assistant Shop Manager and Wardrobe Head; participate in all areas of costume construction; serve as wardrobe crew on all shows; assist with load-ins, laundry, cleaning, changeovers and strike week.
Qualified applicants should be currently enrolled in an university theatre or entertainment program; have a strong background in costume construction and costume care; a strong understanding of theatre and production practices; run crew experience - wardrobe experience preferred; reliable and punctual; willingness to do what is asked; good organizational skills; excellent time management skills; ability to maintain a calm, positive work energy; a strong willingness to learn; a calm confident presence during chaotic production periods; a positive, collaborative attitude; self-motivated with a strong team orientation; ability to multi-task and work well under pressure; ability to manage shifting and competing priorities; exercise good judgment and discretion; ability to work productively and meet deadlines in an environment of change, creative process and rigorous time management; a willingness to work hard as part of a team.
Housing provided if non-local.

Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and/or walking.
