Drama Desk Award-winning TADA! Youth Theater actively seeks an Assistant Stage Manager for its upcoming 2026-2027 Season.
TADA! Youth Theater is committed to producing high quality original musical productions for family audiences. An ideal candidate will have previous stage management experience working on musicals and working with young people and teens. Must be knowledgeable, patient, fun, organized, detail-oriented, disciplined, proactive, and an excellent communicator and collaborator with young people and adults. Cast members, ages 8-18, come from the five boroughs as well as NJ and are from various racial, economic and cultural backgrounds and will have a variety of theatrical experience. Cast sizes vary per show and typically between 20-34.
COMPENSATION: Paid twice a month through payroll on the 15th and 30th beginning November 30th, $500/week for 33.5 Weeks, $16,750 total.
COMMITMENT: This is a part-time position for the 2026-2027 season that reports to the Associate Director of the RYET Program/Resident Production Stage Manager from November 12, 2026 through July 31, 2027 (33.5 weeks), Tuesday-Saturday OR Wednesday-Sunday depending on programming, 20-25 hours per week (except tech). Off November 25th-30th, December 20th-January 5th, 2027 and May 24th-31st, 2027. Rehearsals are typically Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays 3:00-7:15pm; Fridays 3:00-8:15pm, Saturdays 12:45-6:15pm. Performances are on Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays/Sundays 2pm + 4:30pm, and one Weekday of 2 matinee performances TBD throughout the school year and then Tuesdays-Fridays 11:00am + 1:30pm, Saturdays 2:00pm in the summer.

-Winter Production, November 12th, 2026-February 15th, 2027: Tech January 15th-23rd, Performances January 23rd-- February 15th
-Spring Gala, February 18th-March 8th, 2027: Event March 8th
-Spring Production, February 10th, 11th, March 11th-May 23rd, 2027: Tech April 23rd-May 1st, Performances May 1st-23rd
-Summer Production, May 12th + 13th, June 1st-July 31st, 2027: Tech July 6th-13th, Performances July 13th-31st
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
-General setup and breakdown of rehearsal space
-Taking attendance and contacting late cast members
-Managing/organizing the backstage space
-Supervising the cast during rehearsals and backstage during performances
-Tracking blocking, choreography formations, props, etc
-Assisting the PSM with report/minutes writing and distribution
-When necessary, running portions of rehearsal
-General administrative tasks to support the Resident Youth Ensemble of TADA! (RYET) Department
