The STAGES St. Louis Internship Programs are designed to train the next generation of theatre professionals in the skills necessary to become successful and integral parts of the theatre community. We combine practical hands-on experience with the opportunity to work with and learn from seasoned theatre professionals. While immersed in the professional world, our interns gain in-depth knowledge and experience in their chosen areas to become well-rounded theatre practitioners.

STAGES St. Louis is seeking a Production Management Intern for our 2026 Season which consists of three musicals: THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, GUYS AND DOLLS, and COME FROM AWAY.

The Production Management Intern works alongside the Production Manager and Assistant to the Production Manager in the managing of the scene shops for the season. The Intern will assist with production administrative tasks such as reviewing of payroll and shop work hours, reconciling shop personnel credit cards, and maintain production calendars and schedules, scheduling meetings, processing crew contract paperwork, and overall shop purchasing. They will also help with company management-related duties for the production personnel such as crew housing, workers compensation related injuries, and arranging company meals. The Intern also could act as a swing technician on productions if needed.

The successful applicant is detail-oriented, self-motivated, works well in a fast-paced environment and responds with flexibility to the needs of various collaborators in a rapidly changing environment. Applicants should demonstrate strong organizational skills, proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Outlook), and a strong sense of humor and maturity. This position must have a valid driver+rsquo;s license and reliable personal transportation along with their own local housing in St. Louis as housing is not provided for this position.

Ideal contract dates are beginning April through Mid-September, but are flexible and can be altered for the right candidate.

All interns are paid Missouri Minimum Wage which is $15.00/hour. Due to a Missouri State Statute exemption, seasonal employees are paid overtime at 1 1/2 times their rate after 48 hours worked in a given work week.
All production positions are paid biweekly on Fridays.

- Be able to provide local housing in St. Louis for the duration of your internship.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
