Level I – Under the supervision of the Production Manager/Technical Director, the Theatre Technician I will provide technical support for production related tasks in the College of Performing Arts, including but not limited to: constructing scenery on an as needed basis, loading in and changing over scenic and technical elements for productions, constructing/refurbishing stock set components, hanging and focusing lighting, loading, unloading and moving scenic elements to and from warehouse, installation and strike of sound. Being a part of the run crew as needed for each production to assist and fill in for students, particularly during tech weeks. Will work with students regularly during load-ins, work calls, and construction days. The Theatre Technician I will monitor the condition of equipment, and perform basic maintenance and keep the scenic shop, work areas and backstage areas clean and safe. Ability to lift and carry over 50 pounds. This is an entry-level classification in the Theatre Technician series and performs all other duties as assigned.

Level III – Under the supervision of the Production Manager/Technical Director, the Theatre Technician III will provide technical support for production related tasks in the College of Performing Arts, including but not limited to: constructing scenery on an as needed basis, loading in and changing over scenic and technical elements for productions, constructing/refurbishing stock set components, hanging and focusing lighting, loading, unloading and moving scenic elements to and from warehouse, installation and strike of sound. Being a part of the run crew as needed for each production to assist and fill in for students, particularly during tech weeks. Will work with students regularly during load-ins, work calls, and construction days. Will monitor the condition of equipment, and perform somewhat complex maintenance, and keep the scenic shop, work areas and backstage areas clean and safe. This is a theatre systems-specific experience-level classification in lighting, audio, rigging and fly rail operation, or stage management and performs all other duties as assigned. Ability to lift and carry over 50 pounds.
