OPERATIONS MANAGER

Ampa Events, a Richmond event management and production service company, is actively searching for a seasoned professional with proven leadership skills to oversee the operational aspects of our business. Our ideal candidate will be a natural at multi-tasking, organization, and planning in advance for success and maximum efficiency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an event company, we are all involved in the execution of events and client orders as well as the creative process that includes the design and build elements for programs.

1. Assist the President in directing, supervising, and scheduling all aspects of operations, including scheduling of people and equipment, trucking, inventory management and maintenance, overhire staffing, rental equipment, and other support gear and services.
2. Facilitate efficiencies and smooth execution of events by developing timelines, schedules, and task lists for event installation, including pre-production, and warehouse operations.
3. Anticipate problems. Analyze and formulate proactive solutions in a positive manner.
4. Prepare reporting and communicate regularly with the President on all aspects of Ampa's business operations.
5. Lead and participate in the pre-production review process. Oversee production planning and anticipate production needs.
6. Assume production manager role as needed for events.
7. Work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours.
8. Train and develop staff in standard operating procedures for event installation and warehouse operations. Enforce strict adherence to Ampa's standard operating policies and procedures.
9. Facilitate a safe work environment in the warehouse and at job sites.
10. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. 4-8 years experience in a managerial position that includes directing and supervising a team of employees. The ideal candidate will have experience in theatre, events, conference design, or other related businesses.
2. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or within time-sensitive schedules.
3. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.
4. Strong organizational skills that include planning in advance for success and maximum efficiency.
5. Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to form effective working relationships with clients, employees, and business partners.
6. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job: walk/stand for extended periods of time. Push/pull, kneel, climb ladders, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
7. Work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
8. Ability to safely drive box trucks and pull a utility trailer as needed.
9. Proficiency with Mac OS.
10. Familiarity with digital inventory management methods.
