I have over a decade of experience in professional theatre and I would bring my knowledge working live events in an academic setting as an Event Supervisor with the Performing Arts Center at UAlbany. It is a very collaborative and team-oriented environment. I review the needs of the client for their event and perform various roles to ensure it runs smoothly. I have programmed lights for visiting dance companies, helped assemble sets with the musical theatre club, and ran sound cables and operated the sound board for author talks with the NYS Writers Institute. For many events, I also serve as the Stage Manager. I enjoy being involved in all aspects of a production.
In addition to working with clients, I help to train and supervise a diverse group of twelve student staff. I enjoy teaching them how an event or a production runs, from install to strike and beyond, as well as teaching more technical skills such as how a microphone works and setting up/taking down lighting and sound equipment.
