Experience
I graduated 2012 from Troy University, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor's in Theater. I have been a theater professional for 14 years.
The bulk of my experience has been in theme parks and on cruise ships. This means that I have a lot of practice at working under pressure and within unusual restrictions. I have developed an exceptional eye for detail as well.
During the pandemic, I pivoted to using my skills fabricating custom marine canvas at a local premier canvas shop (Signature CanvasMakers). I stayed there for a year and a half, learning the specific skills of that trade and adding them to my toolbox as a stitcher. Once the cruising industry opened back up enough for me to feel safe cruising again, I left Signature CanvasMakers, but I do go back in between contracts.
I have a small amount of experience with basic carpentry and electrics (mostly hanging and focusing), in addition to my expertise at sewing.
I also spent the back half of the 23-24 season at the Virginia Opera learning the ropes as their A/V and projection operator. I am now learning basic audio reinforcement and light projector troubleshooting and maintenance (supported by Christie University).
In my spare time I crochet, embroider, read, write fiction, and learn languages. I am currently learning Norwegian.
