Sales Representative- Rigging: develops new business opportunities and manages client relationships for theatrical rigging systems, inspections, repairs, upgrades, and related stage solutions. This role translates client needs into compliant, buildable scopes and collaborates with engineering, project management, operations, and external partners to deliver safe and code-compliant systems.
This position directly contributes to revenue growth, gross margin performance, and brand reputation. Success requires disciplined pipeline management, accurate estimating, strong technical knowledge of theatrical rigging systems, and proactive relationship development.
Essential Functions
The specific breakdown of time spent on different tasks will vary based on the workload and the priorities of the clients. The following is an estimated breakdown of duties and time spent on each.
Business Development + Pipeline Management (35%)
-Proactively generate new leads through networking, cold outreach, referrals, and industry engagement.
-Qualify inbound opportunities and define scope, budget, schedule, and client objectives.
-Maintain an active, documented sales pipeline with clear next steps and forecast accuracy.
-Develop territory growth strategies in alignment with company revenue targets.
Technical Sales + Estimating (30%)
-Develop conceptual and detailed rigging system solutions consistent with applicable standards and manufacturer requirements.
-Prepare accurate proposals, estimates, scopes, assumptions, exclusions, and cost breakdowns.
-Produce and review drawings, narratives, and specification documentation as required.
-Conduct site visits to evaluate structural, architectural, and operational constraints.
Client Relationship Management (15%)
-Serve as primary point of contact for prospective and existing clients.
-Build trusted relationships with architects, consultants, general contractors, venue managers, and institutional stakeholders.
-Provide product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution recommendations.
-Support contract negotiation and manage scope clarifications and revisions.
Internal Collaboration + Project Handoff (15%)
-Lead Internal Kick-Off (IKO) meetings with Project Management and Operations.
-Ensure sold work is clearly documented, buildable, and aligned with shop and field capabilities.
-Communicate vendor lead times, pricing updates, and technical considerations.
-Support problem-solving during execution to maintain schedule and client satisfaction.
Administrative + CRM Management (5%)
-Maintain accurate records in assigned CRM system.
-Document client communications, meeting notes, revisions, and approvals.
-Support reporting needs for leadership review.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Theater Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
2. Minimum 5-10 years of professional experience in theatrical rigging, stage systems, or related industry
3. Strong understanding of theatrical rigging components and installation practices
4. Ability to interpret structural drawings and understand load paths and force distribution
5. Valid driver's license
6. Ability to pass background screening for access to schools and secure venues
7. OSHA 10 Certification (or obtained during onboarding period.)
Preferred Education and Experience
1. ETCP Rigger: Theater certification + Arena certification
2. Experience in theatrical system design and installation
3. Experience coordinating with structural and electrical engineers
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D preferred)
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
