Our production team will mount 3 productions during the season, with a compensation package tailored to their roles, including complimentary housing within easy walking distance of the theatre. Assistant Stage Manager, Non-Union (SEEKING ONE)
Start/End Date: May 25th - August 31, 2026
Compensation: 450/wk

Reports To: Stage Manager, Production Manager
Primary Responsibilities
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
-Support the Stage Management team in all rehearsal and performance operations.
-Assist in creating and maintaining production documentation, including run sheets, prop tracking, scene shift paperwork, and daily reports.
-Coordinate rehearsal room setup, strike, props, and scene transitions.
-Maintain clear communication between the Stage Management team, cast, crew, and production departments.
-Oversee backstage operations during technical rehearsals and performances, including tracking and organizing props, costumes, and scene shifts as assigned.
-Participate in nightly changeovers as directed
-Assist in scheduling fittings, rehearsals, and meetings as needed.
-Manage line notes, attendance, and other performer-related paperwork.
-Ensure a safe, organized, and professional rehearsal and backstage environment.
-Support the enforcement of company policies, best practices, and production deadlines.
Required Skills and Experience:
-Previous professional or academic stage management experience.
-Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
-Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
-Proficiency in standard stage management tools and software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, digital forms).
-Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams of artists, technicians, and administrators.
-Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
-Experience managing backstage traffic, props, or costumes during live performance (preferred but not required).
-Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to the Stage Manager's direction.
-Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills.
