Job Title: Electrician
Salary + Benefits: $13.00 an hour (plus overtime after 40 hours)
Eligible for Insurance and PTO Benefits after 90 days
Shared, dorm style housing provided
Department: Lighting
Reports to (Position): Head of Lighting + Projections, Head Electrician
Dates of Employment: May 11 - December 20, 2026
SUMMARY: Work in conjunction Lighting and Projections staff to execute, and maintain all production lighting, production video and special effects needs for Flat Rock Playhouse productions and events. There is potential for cross training in other production disciplines, master classes and professional development opportunities through the season
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hang, focus and strike lighting equipment for FRP productions
Serve as run crew on assigned productions. Positions may include programmer, board operator, spot operator, deck electrician, or other assignments deemed necessary
Complete required parking shifts during show runs along with other staff as assigned by management
May assist in other production areas from time to time as availability and skill sets allow.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in theatre/related field, or degree in progress preferred.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Basic knowledge of theatrical lighting design implementation
Ability to work well alone or in a group
Ability to work under stressful situations
Able to work for long hours
Able to perform basic shop skills (i.e. climbing a ladder, able to lift 50 pounds, able to stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc.)
Organized and personable
