Des Moines Metro Opera seeks an additional technician for the 2026 OPERA Iowa tour. Technicians selected will have the option to stay on with DMMO for the 2026 summer season, in one of the festival positions.

As part of an 8-week regional arts education tour, OPERA Iowa performances will include touring productions of Cinderella (written and adapted by Joshua Borths with music by Rossini and Massenet) and The Billy Goats Gruff (arranged by John Davies with music by Mozart, Rossini and Donizetti).

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
+bull; Assisting in the use of the existing scenery, creating/sourcing props for the touring productions.
+bull; Creating a simple light design using an EOS board + operating the board during shows.
+bull; Leading load in/load out at each venue with the help of a volunteer crew.
+bull; Driving a 26-foot box truck when out on the road.
+bull; Maintenance of the scenery / props / costumes, when away from Indianola.
+bull; Working closely and collaboratively with the other tour technician and the performers.
+bull; Use a company payment card and keep track of receipts and submit receipts in a timely manner.
+bull; Maintain a professional, light-hearted work environment.


$350 travel stipend to be paid upon arrival.

Shared Apartment Housing (private bedroom) in Indianola, for the length of the engagement and hotel accommodations when away from Indianola.

Per diem while out on the tour of $30/day (hotels typically include breakfast and often lunch is provided).
