JOB TITLE: Staff Wig Runner

REPORTS TO: Head of Wigs and Crafts

FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION RATE: $29.76 per hour

LOCATION: 170 N. Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60601



POSITION SUMMARY:

The Goodman Theatre seeks a Wig Runner to support the preparation, maintenance, and execution of wigs and hairpieces for assigned productions. This position works closely with performers, stage management, and the wig team to ensure consistent, high-quality presentation and smooth backstage operations throughout rehearsals and performances.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist in preparation, style and maintenance of wigs and hair pieces according to production requirements based on skill level

- Assist performers with hair preparation, wig application, and styling maintenance.

- Develop and maintain accurate wig and hair tracks during technical rehearsals.

- Perform nightly maintenance, restyling, and adjustments as needed for performances.

- Create and update show paperwork related to wig tracking and maintenance.

- Support fellow team members with quick changes and backstage hair-related needs.

- Clean, repack, and store wigs, headdresses, and related materials after each performance.

- Maintain detailed maintenance documentation and participate in rotation of assigned duties.

- Adhere to backstage safety protocols and uphold professional performance etiquette.
