At Heartland Scenic Studio we turn ideas into reality. Our people make this happen through dedication and commitment every day. Heartland Scenic Studio is currently looking for a Theatrical Rigging Project Manager.
Reporting to the Director of Theatrical Services, the Rigging Project Manager will assist in defining project scope, budget + objective as well as coordinate internal resources + third-party vendors with specific project requirements. In this role managing communication with all stakeholders and ensuring resource availability + allocation is essential for being successful.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:
Generate rigging, curtain, and/or track designs and project documentation layouts
Manage all department projects (design, installation, billing and inspections
Manage resource allocation
Perform safety inspections and generate documentation
Manage compliance with all safety and security procedures
Maintain OSHA certifications
Maintain ETCP certifications for theatrical rigging
Actively maintain education on industry advancements and changes
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES may include but are not limited to:
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office programs
Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
Ability to read and understand AIA contracts and payment schedules
Ability to read and interpret safety regulation, operation, installation and maintenance procedure documents
Ability to calculate figures, proportions and apply basic concepts of algebra, geometry and physics as they relate to load-bearing concepts, calculations and forces
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret diverse instructions provided in various forms: verbal, written, blueprints and drawings
Ability to manage time and resources with minimal oversight
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Required: BA or BFA with emphasis on technical theatre or equivalent experience
Required: ETCP certification upon hire
Required Valid drivers license
Required: OSHA 10/30 upon hire
Required: OneSource certification (background check) upon hire
2 years of technical theatre practical experience
Experience in motorized rigging systems
Experience in counterweight systems
WORK ENVIRONMENT
M-F 8am-5pm, Evenings and/or weekends as needed
Work in an office and onsite environments
25% travel required, regional and national
