Civic Theatre of Allentown is a non-profit, professionally-staffed, historic community theatre, arthouse cinema and youth theater school located in the culturally rich and growing Lehigh Valley, PA. Civic Theatre is at the heart of Allentown+rsquo;s West End Theatre District, expanding hearts and minds onstage and off. Founded in 1927, Civic+rsquo;s 19th Street Theatre was recently recognized for local historic value by the National Register of Historic Places of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
The Theatre+rsquo;s annual budget is approximately $1.5 million. Reaching more than 18,000 patrons annually, the Civic Theatre delivers powerful programming that challenges adult and youth audiences to think critically and care deeply. The Theatre has a vibrant Youth Education program, developing skills and confidence in hundreds of young actors annually.

Our mission is to entertain, inspire and enrich the community by producing high quality theatre, presenting engaging films, and offering exceptional theatre education. Our key values are artistic excellence, community engagement, creativity and stewardship.

OUR OPPORTUNITY:
Civic seeks a dynamic and experienced administrative leader, responsible for overall administrative, financial and operational management and for the stewardship of our historically significant facilities. Title and salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
The position has joint accountability with our Artistic Director to translate organizational strategy and goals into practical fundraising, programming, audience development and community relations initiatives in support of Civic+rsquo;s mission.
Directly reporting to this position are: Development, Marketing, Box Office, Business Manager, and Volunteer Coordinator.
The position provides hands-on leadership, brings passion and vision to ensure that Civic Theatre has the requisite financial and operational resources for our long-term viability. The Director/Manager will foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, clear communication and mutual support.

Qualified candidates only are invited to The ideal candidate will bring to the position:

o Demonstrated success managing an arts-related non-profit organization
o Demonstrated staff and budget management skills
o Demonstrated marketing and fundraising skills (capital campaign experience a plus)
o Superior leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
o Exceptional interpersonal skills, good humor and flexibility to handle new challenges
o Bachelor+rsquo;s degree in related field, or comparable professional experience (Master in Arts Administration preferred)
o Positive non-profit board relations and demonstrated governance skills
o Interest and availability to represent Civic Theatre at fundraisers, meetings, events, opening nights, etc., as well as related events in the community
o Strong work ethic, integrity, creativity, initiative, ability to work alone and within a group
o Passion for Civic Theatre+rsquo;s mission
