The Phoenix Theatre Company, Arizona+rsquo;s largest professional regional theatre, located in downtown Phoenix Arizona, is seeking costume shop apprentice applications for their 2025-2026 season.

The apprentice program is designed for aspiring theatre artists to attain work experience while under the tutelage of industry professionals. Ideal candidates have completed a bachelors program or have similar industry experience. The program offers practical applications in multiple career fields including Scenic, Properties, Costumes, Lighting, Wardrobe, Sound, and Stage Management. This program is season long, averaging 51 weeks with flexible start and end dates and offers opportunities for growth in the applicants field of concentration.

Costume Apprentice:
The ideal candidate is positive, self-motivated, organized, collaborative and professional. Candidates with academic experience in theatrical costume making, or fashion sewing techniques are preferred. Some experience in hand and machine sewing is expected, costume crafts skills are also helpful.

Reporting to the costume shop supervisor, the costume apprentice assists the costume shop for all productions. These duties include sewing, pulling, maintaining, and repairing costumes, while learning new techniques. Other duties include helping to maintain stock and the workspace, and assisting other departments as needed.

Compensation:
A weekly stipend is offered for the apprenticeship. Nonlocal apprentices are provided with fully furnished, single occupancy, all utilities included company housing in downtown Phoenix close to the theatre.
