Theater Latt+eacute; Da produces four to five mainstage musicals per year as well as a three-week summer festival of new works.

Compensation

Starting at $22.00 per hour, DOE.
Year-Round with variable hours throughout the season +ndash; average 32 hours per week

Job purpose

The Audio Supervisor is a critical member of the production team and will lead Theater Latte Da+rsquo;s audio department in planning, executing, and managing all needs of the audio department. They will function as the primary sound board operator for all performances as well as hire and oversee a team of individuals to assist in the process to ensure a quality product is delivered on schedule and within budget.


Duties and responsibilities

Primary
+bull; Attend the sound load-in, designer run, band rehearsals, technical rehearsals, previews, performances, and understudy rehearsals as the primary operator and representative of the audio department.

+bull; Program the sound board and Qlab with the sound designer during tech rehearsals.

+bull; Run the sound board and Qlab for all tech rehearsals, performances, and understudy rehearsals.

+bull; Lead the load-in for sound equipment including speakers, wireless microphones, band equipment, com systems, video monitors, audio monitors, and any other sound or video equipment required for the Production.

+bull; Set up the com system, god mic, and other sound/video monitoring systems at the tech table for tech and understudy rehearsals.

+bull; Assist the sound designer through the design process with inventory, research on specialty equipment, and system planning.

+bull; Train audio swings and other personnel as needed.

+bull; Prepare paperwork including plots, channel lists, swing instructions, and other items as necessary.

+bull; Pickup and return all rented audio equipment

+bull; Prepare wireless microphones for actors - I.e. labeling, creating ear rigs, painting cables, assisting costumes with placement, etc.

+bull; Prepare the sound script prior to tech based on the designer run and other rehearsals.

+bull; Archive all sound related items after opening including backing up the sound board file, archiving Qlab, and scanning an updated script.

+bull; Strike all audio and video equipment upon closing.

+bull; Generally troubleshoot issues with the sound system, com system, DANTE network, audio + video monitors, and other sound and video equipment in the theaters as needed and able.

+bull; Put away sound equipment as it+rsquo;s used and generally keep the sound areas organized and clean.

+bull; Attend all production meetings.

+bull; Attend weekly supervisor and staff meetings.

+bull; Assist with providing power and audio feeds to the videographer, audio describer, and open captioner.

+bull; Assist with the set up and strike of open captioning equipment as requested by the Production Director.


Qualifications


Required

● Excellent skills and knowledge of theatrical audio practices.

● Demonstrated experience in audio engineering (setting up audio systems) and mixing musicals.

● Knowledge of DANTE networks

● Ability to manage and encourage a team of professionals to execute a successful process.

● Ability to manage the audio process to achieve the designs within budgetary and other limitations.

● Ability to work a varied schedule and be available for evenings and weekends at predetermined times.

● Ability to ocassionally work at heights on extension ladders and lifts, or within confined locations.

● Knowledge of safe working conditions. Specifically, NEC and OSHA requirements.

Preferred

● Familiarity with Allen + Heath Avantis Mixer

● Ability to read sheet music

● Access to a personal vehicle.


Working conditions

The Audio Supervisor will spend much of their time working on their feet in the theater. Occasional work at heights on ladders and lifts will also be required. The remaining portion of their time will be spent working and communicating on a computer.

A shared office space will be provided at the Ritz Theater, but this person may do a significant amount of work remotely with flexible scheduling.

Evening and weekend hours will be required during tech rehearsals, performances, and other select days.

Physical requirements

The Audio Supervisor may be required to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
