Props Assistant (Carpenter)

Working as part of the team the Props Assistant (Carpenter) must come with basic carpentry skills and either experience or comfortability in props crafts. Upholstery, painting, and other props skills are helpful as well. Each season has its own needs so being ready to learn and try new skills is also a must. This is a very fast moving organization that often needs its props ready for rehearsal yesterday. Multitasking is a must. Experience working in a resident theater dealing with both rehearsal props and show props for different overlapping productions is required.

PSF+rsquo;s summer festival is a fast-paced work environment necessitating strong multitasking and data tracking skills. An ideal candidate will be team and goal oriented and receptive to the adaptive problem solving required to mitigate the ever-evolving needs of a vigorous summer festival season. Patience and mediation skills are required to ensure a professional and inclusive work environment at all times. Established experience in theatrical props building and acquisition techniques and/or touring environs is required. The Props department, Scene Shop and Production Management work closely together to ensure a smooth and inclusive work environment at all times. Safety and precision are our foremost priorities.
