Cherokee Historical Association is accepting resumes for General Technicians or Actor/Technicians.

We typically have one or two Gen Techs or Actor/Techs on our team. These crew members will work with all departments, but we do try to have them train with the departments they're most interested in as much as possible. Both Gen Techs and Actor/Techs will have backstage duties. Actor techs will also be in the ensemble of some scenes and may understudy some of the speaking roles. Previous technical theatre experience is preferred but not required.

About Us: Unto These Hills is the third oldest outdoor drama in the country and has been seen by over six million people. The drama tells the history of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians from first contact with Europeans through the removal west on the infamous Trail of Tears. We prioritize hiring Indigenous actors and technicians, but all are welcome to apply.

Season dates: May 5th - August 30th with somewhat flexible start and end dates

Hours: Three weeks of rehearsal at approximately 48 hours per week. Twelve weeks of shows at approximately 30 hours per week

Other: Housing is provided for a small fee. All utilities and wifi included. Walking distance to the theatre. Travel and meals are not provided. We are located on the Qualla Boundary which is the sovereign territory of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The area is LGBTQIA+ friendly. Company members receive free admission to area attractions
