Job Title: Production Audio Engineer
Reports To: Audio Supervisor
Department: Production/Audio
FLSA Classification: Seasonal Full-Time Non-Exempt or Temporary Full-Time Non-Exempt
Rate: $19.00 per hour (based on experience), time and a half over 40

General Statement of Job Function: The Production Audio Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient and accurate implementation of sound designs, as well as assisting the Audio Supervisor in the safe installation and execution of all audio elements.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as head engineer and sound board operator for all assigned production performances.
Assist in the creation, load-in, and strike of all sound elements.
Attend and participate in all technical rehearsals, crew calls, technical notes, and performances as assigned.
Supervise audio personnel as appropriate.
Maintain and manage audio equipment, storage spaces, tools, and expendables.
Create and maintain all production-related paperwork.
Maintain a clean, safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by resolving conflicts between employees, including addressing interpersonal issues, mediating disputes, and facilitating open communication to ensure a harmonious team dynamic.
Exhibit interpersonal savvy, which includes relating comfortably to a variety of personalities, cultivating and maintaining positive relationships, employing discretion, diplomacy, and tact, seeking the positive in all situations.
Comfortably and effectively cope with change and ambiguity, which includes effectively transitioning between tasks and timelines, identifying priorities and making good decisions with a minimum of information, and staying relaxed and proactive when things are uncertain.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend all rehearsals and production meetings as needed.
Teach any replacement engineers or other assistants their appropriate track.
Give support as needed to the Music Department.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications + Skills: Experience in theatrical audio; Able to repeatedly climb four flights of stairs while carrying 40 pounds; Advanced knowledge and expertise with current sound equipment; Awareness and knowledge of range and limits of sound equipment; Must have acute and balanced hearing; Manual dexterity and an aptitude for working with electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems and equipment; Proven supervisory skills and leadership ability; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications + Skills: Strong technical and organizational skills; Ability to lift 50 lbs; Ability to troubleshoot problems in a calm and efficient manner under pressure; Ability to work within tight deadlines; Ability to understand the work and needs of the department, anticipate potential problems and propose timely solutions.
