The Tony-award winning UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, a professional theater company in residence at Southern Utah University, is seeking experienced and highly skilled audio staff for the 2025 season. The Utah Shakespeare Festival produces a six-show repertory season and three Green Shows across three venues in the summer/fall of each year. Position details below.
Contract dates vary by position.

- FOH Audio Technician: Contracts begin early May and end mid-October.
- Wireless Microphone Technician: Contracts begin early May and end mid-October.
- Audio Technician: Contracts begin early/late May and end early July with some extending as late as mid-October.


Duties and Responsibilities:

- FOH Audio Technician: Responsible for setup, operation and changeover during rehearsals and performances. Duties may include live mixing of actors and/or orchestra. Also responsible for setup, maintenance of backstage, intercom, audio and video monitors.

- Wireless Microphone Technician: The position works in conjunction with the FOH engineer(s) and designer for set up and use of wired and wireless microphones used throughout the Festival. Responsible for setup, operation and changeover during rehearsals and performances. Duties may include live mixing of actors and/or orchestra. Also responsible for setup, maintenance of backstage, intercom, audio and video monitors.

- Audio Technician: Responsible for setup, operation and changeover during rehearsals and performances.


Education and Experience Requirements:

- FOH Audio Technician:
Yamaha Riviage, CL/QL or similar digital console experience.
Fourier Transform Engine or Waves Grid experience
Shure Axient with remote frequency management/deployment via Shure Spectrum Manager, Yamaha consoles and Wireless Workbench
Background working with Clear-Com FreeSpeak
Highly proficient in QLab
Knowledge of Windows and MacOS computer systems, networking/managed switches and Access Points to effectively accomplish work
Strong background in live sound engineering for small and large productions
Collaborate with the Sound Designer in realizing the sonic design of the production(s)
Dante experience with certification preferred
Nemesis Audio+rsquo;s insight experience preferred
Open Sound Control and/or User Datagram Protocol experience preferred
Recording experience is a plus
Physical ability to lift and move sound equipment of various weight and to work from heights (i.e. ladders, catwalks, grids and genie lifts)

- Wireless Microphone Technician:
Experience building element rigs
Experience deploying and maintaining wireless mic systems
Experience with orchestra pits and coordinating with musical directors
Shure Axient with remote frequency management/deployment via Shure Spectrum Manager, Yamaha consoles and Wireless Workbench
Background working with Clear-Com FreeSpeak
Highly proficient in QLab
Knowledge of Windows and MacOS computer systems, networking/managed switches and Access Points to effectively accomplish work
Dante experience with certification preferred
Nemesis Audio+rsquo;s insight experience preferred
Open Sound Control and/or User Datagram Protocol experience preferred
Recording experience is a plus

Proficient in QLab
Knowledge of Windows and MacOS computer systems
Dante experience preferred
Background working with Clear-Com
Work directly with the Sound Designer
Document settings, configurations and preshow/postshow duties.
Recording experience is a plus
Physical ability to lift and move sound equipment of various weight and to work from heights (i.e. ladders, catwalks, grids and genie lifts)
