The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) to join our production team. The ASM will support the Stage Manager in coordinating all aspects of rehearsals and performances, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of stage management practices.

Responsibilities:

Rehearsal Support:
-Assist the Stage Manager in setting up and maintaining the rehearsal space.
-Prepare and distribute rehearsal schedules, scripts, and other necessary materials.
-Record blocking, technical notes, and other pertinent information during rehearsals.
-Coordinate the movement and placement of props and scenery during rehearsals.

Performance Support:
-Assist the Stage Manager in overseeing the smooth execution of performances.
-Ensure all cast and crew members are aware of their cues and entrances.
-Coordinate with the deck and fly crew to manage scene changes and technical elements.
-Monitor and maintain backstage areas to ensure a safe and efficient environment.

Communication and Coordination:
-Serve as a primary point of contact between the cast, crew, and production team.
-Communicate any changes or updates to the rehearsal or performance schedule.
-Facilitate clear and timely communication between all departments.

Administrative Duties:
-Maintain accurate records of attendance, blocking, and technical notes.
-Assist in the preparation and distribution of daily rehearsal and performance reports.
-Manage the inventory and organization of props and costumes.

Safety and Compliance:
-Ensure all cast and crew members adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
-Assist in conducting safety briefings and emergency drills as needed.
-Monitor the performance space for any potential safety hazards.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor+rsquo;s degree in Theater, Stage Management, or a related field preferred.
-Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in stage management or a related role.
-Strong understanding of stage management practices and procedures.
-Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as required by production schedules.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and stage management software (e.g., QLab).
-Physical ability to lift and move props and equipment as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

-Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
-Compensation: $18 per hour.
