The Role:
The position of Stage Supervisor is a full-time role with expectations of 40-hour work weeks, with some overtime during busy event seasons. This position will report directly to the Technical Director. It is essential that this position builds a strong, collaborative working relationship with the entire organization to support the production of live events such as movies, meetings, graduations, shoots, and concerts. This includes working with artists and client managers as well as various union and non-union production crews. Cool-headed, self-motivated individuals who think fast on their feet and enjoy technical support will thrive in this role. This role will require a flexible schedule, working days, nights, and weekends to support events.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
+bull; Promote superior guest services to all visitors.
+bull; Facilitate and supervise guest production companies as they utilize the venue technical systems (audio, lighting, video, rigging, and similar).
+bull; Supervise and assist all stage activity as well as installation and removal of any production equipment.
+bull; Assist in maintaining and safeguarding the technical assets of the venue.
+bull; Maintain a clean and safe stage space at all times, adhering to venue standards in conjunction with production needs.
+bull; Orient facility renters and visiting productions to safety, technical characteristics, and technical operations.
+bull; Ensure that all crews are aware of and follow safety policies of the venue.
+bull; Review event and project proposals to ensure all technical elements have been accounted for.
+bull; Provide onsite solutions to customer needs for rigging, audio, video, lighting, and general systems integration as plans are adjusted onsite.
+bull; Document all damages and safety concerns related to the daily movement of any incoming productions, video shoots and uses of the venue.
+bull; Set-up, operate, + strike venue technical systems and support A/V as reasonably requested.
+bull; Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex A/V hardware problems for a variety of end users; recommend and implement corrective solutions.
+bull; Monitor the condition of all equipment and document any instances of A/V equipment failure or requests for repair/replacement of such equipment.
+bull; Assist in overseeing inventory and ordering specialized supplies.
+bull; Organize and maintain production documentation for all events.
+bull; Coordinate with the Technical Director the schedules and resources of the technical team for the timely execution of events and special projects.
+bull; Maintain an up-to-date technical production schedule to include upcoming productions and in-house projects.
+bull; Participate in administrative projects as assigned, such as: PTO tracking, payroll, scheduling, inventory, contracting, and equipment purchasing.
+bull; Will need a good working knowledge of stage technical systems, tools, and equipment related to stagecraft.
+bull; Ability to operate (or willingness to learn) ETC Ion, Yamaha CL5, and TC1LP TriCaster.
+bull; Certified (or willing to become certified) in the use of scissor lifts, genie lifts, forklifts, and operation of atmospheric special effects.
+bull; Maintain venue Tech Pack and draft technical manuals for use and maintenance of equipment.
+bull; Generate weekly tech team schedules per production calendar and maintenance needs.
+bull; Receive and respond to incoming calls, texts, and/or emails regarding A/V equipment.
+bull; Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
+bull; Perform other related duties as assigned.
+bull; Schedule must remain flexible.
Physical Requirements:
+bull; Must be able to spend long periods of time standing.
+bull; Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
+bull; Able to regularly walk up and down multiple sets of stairs, daily.
Minimum Qualifications:
+bull; Bachelor+rsquo;s Degree in Technical Theatre or related field of study.
+bull; 5+ years of experience in technical theater and/or production management roles.
+bull; 2+ years supervisory experience.
+bull; Computer literacy - including Word, Excel, Outlook and Zoom.
+bull; Ability to interpret stage plots.
+bull; Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication style.
+bull; Ability to multi-task and work with a variety of clientele.
+bull; Facilitation and problem-solving skills; able to accurately troubleshoot/resolve issues under tight timelines.
+bull; Experience with AutoCAD and/or Vectorwoks is a plus.
+bull; Spanish language competency is a major plus.
