OVERVIEW
The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and maintenance of BlackRock Center for the Arts' 30,000 sq ft facility (consisting of three performance spaces, two art galleries, two visual arts classrooms, two dance studios, and administrative offices) and non-theatrical equipment (including tables, chairs, desks, copy machines, and more). In addition, the Operations Manager will collaborate with BlackRock directors and managers to ensure the successful execution of all events, classes, camps, and rentals.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operations Manager will:
-Manage the use, maintenance, and inventory of all BlackRock facilities and equipment including resource reservation systems, Genie personal lift, ice machine, laundry machines, tables, chairs, AV resources, and other event equipment.
-Coordinate event logistics (i.e. resource reservation, setup + breakdown plans, etc.) and provide day-of event support as assigned by the Senior Director of Operations.
-Maintain a ledger of internal and external work orders with Montgomery County Maintenance, Montgomery County Security, and other vendors, following up to ensure the timely execution of solutions and fixes.
-Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of facility operations.
-Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction levels to identify areas for improvement and ensure a positive customer experience.
-Provide general office administrative support as needed.
-Provide a high level of customer service to all artists, patrons, and program stakeholders.
-Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
-High School diploma
-1+ years of experience in facility management, operations management, or event planning, preferably in an arts and culture setting
-Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays to support events
-General knowledge of theatre and event best practices for health and safety
-Strong knowledge of computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace Suite, and facility management systems
-Strong critical thinking skills and proactive problem-solving ability
-Ability to work well with a team, both as a lead and in a supporting role
-Effective verbal and written communication skills
-CPR, AED, + First Aid certification preferred but not required
-Valid driver's license preferred but not required
-Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
