The Henegar Center in Downtown Melbourne Florida is a local performing arts center. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that is owned and operated by The Brevard Regional Arts Group, Inc. celebrating our 31st season on the Space Coast of Central Florida. Our facility is the historic 1919 Melbourne School building and features a 402-seat MainStage Theatre and an 80-seat Blackbox Theatre.

Our goal is to entertain, educate, and enrich by producing the highest quality performing arts experiences.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Director to join our team. As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of our productions with a focus on set construction, lighting or sound. You will work closely with the creative team to ensure the highest quality of work. If you have a passion for theater and possess strong technical skills, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the creative team to understand project requirements and objectives

- Develop and execute technical plans for production, including construction, lighting, and sound

- Utilize software tools such as Vectorworks/Sketchup/Q Lab to create drafts.

- Ensure all technical aspects of projects are completed within deadlines and meet quality standards

- Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during production

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Technical Director or similar role

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously

- Familiarity with Zaktrack is a plus
