Playhouse Stage Company is seeking a Costumer Designer who will also serve as Wardrobe and Wig Supervisor during its 36th summer season of theatrical productions in New York+rsquo;s Capital Region. This position will work to design and maintain the costumes and wigs required to produce Legally Blonde at The Cohoes Music Hall. The postion will be responsible for the day-to-day costume needs of the show including repairs, laundry and show presets and wardrobe needs during performances. This position requires previous experience with wig maintenance, and proper handling of rental wigs. Previous leadership on a wardrobe crew is strongly preferred.
Playhouse Stage Company has been producing free, live, outdoor Broadway style musicals in Albany+rsquo;s historic Washington Park for 35 years. Our 3,000 seat amphitheater where our musicals take place, comes alive each summer as our technical staff builds our show from the ground up. This season we are expanding our summer programming and also producing theater in our year-round venue, The Cohoes Music Hall.

Direct Responsibilities:
Maintain both wigs and costumes used during the performances of Legally Blonde
Assist with repair, alterations, and maintenance of costumes
Set and maintain wigs on as needed basis
Oversee laundry needs of the production


Required Skills:
Valid driver+rsquo;s license and vehicle required
Excellent Sewing skills a must
Previous work with wigs is required
Portfolios are not necessary but appreciated
Ability to manage a budget
Willingness to work with creative team to create a unified artistic vision
Ability to work at times in outdoor spaces as required by the rehearsal and performance schedule
Willingness to learn, work and lead in a high paced and unique environment
