JOB TITLE: Assistant to the Properties Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Properties Supervisor
FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
HOURLY RATE: $29.00/ hour
LOCATION: 363 W. Pershing Rd., Chicago, IL 60609

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Goodman Theatre seeks an Assistant Properties Supervisor to be a part of our production team for the 9 show season, including our annual production of A Christmas Carol. The Assistant Properties Supervisor will work collaboratively with the Prop Supervisor in all aspects of running the properties department which includes assistance in overseeing the props crew, aid in communicating with designers and stage managers and executing properties for all productions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and develop relationships with the props staff to ensure timely and efficient workflow of projects.
- Assist in developing and maintaining daily work lists, calendars, and crew hours.
- Assist in organizing and distributing specific show information to the properties crew.
- Oversee load-ins and load-outs with Properties Supervisor.
- Arrange transportation of properties between shop and theatre.
- Track prop shop expenses providing expense reports to the prop shop supervisor and production department.
- Coordinate prop rentals.
- Direct and actively assist in the maintenance of prop work areas and storage spaces at the shop and theatre.
- Be available for some technical rehearsals, overtime, and weekend hours.
- Work on specific projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE:
- Work collaboratively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude
- Two to three years professional props experience
- Knowledge and experience with prop construction methods and techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Photoshop.
- Ability to repeatedly lift, push or maneuver 50-70lbs, either alone or with assistance from others as well as scale ladders and work in high places
- Must have own vehicle and applicable insurance to use vehicle for work purposes, a valid Illinois driver+rsquo;s license, and clean driving record, and be able to operate company vehicles.
- This position requires some overtime evening hours and weekend hours on an as needed basis.

This is a full-time, non-union hourly position with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, paid vacation, sick leave, and 401k.
