JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: A2 Microphone Technician
Salary + Benefits: $13.00 an hour (plus overtime after 40 hours)
Eligible for Insurance Benefits after 90 days

SUMMARY: The A2 Sound Engineer assists with the load in, operation and maintenance of theatrical sound equipment. They may serve as FOH mixer/sound board operator on assigned productions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assist the Sound Designer, Head of Audio and A1 with load-in and strike of each show
● Set up and maintenance of backstage theater communication systems
● Building and fitting RF mic rigs
● Prepping AND properly monitoring RF during assigned performances
● Troubleshooting and fixing RF problems as they occur
● When assigned as +ldquo;FOH mixer+rdquo; for a production: operate the sound console and execute sound cues called by the stage manager
● Attend production meetings, tech, dress rehearsals, and notes sessions as assigned by Head of Audio and/or Production Manager.
● Participate in load in and strike of shows
● Serve as run crew on assigned productions
● Complete required parking shifts during show runs along with other staff as assigned by production management
● Potential for cross training in other production disciplines, master classes, and professional development opportunities throughout the season.
● May assist in other production areas from time to time as availability and skill sets allow.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
● Bachelor's Degree in theatre/related field, or degree in progress preferred.
● Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
● Basic knowledge of signal flow, wireless microphone systems and RF tuning.
● Ability to work well alone or in a group
● Ability to work under stressful situations
● Able to work for long hours
● Able to perform basic shop skills (i.e. climbing a ladder, able to lift 50 pounds, able to stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc.)
● Organized and personable
