Performing Arts Center (PAC) Assistant Technical Director
LOCATION OF WORK:Huntley High School
STARTING DATE: Immediately
RANGE OF PAY: $18.00 - $20.00 / hour
WORK HOURS: During the school year
(August - May) 40 hours/week
(available to work evenings and weekends)
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time (At Will)

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The PAC Assistant Technical Director works closely with the PAC Technical Director to set up, operate, and maintain the technical assets of the Performing Arts Center and Centennial Black Box Theater for theatre, dance, music, and other productions and events offered by District 158 and outside groups.
The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Technical Director are to build theatrical scenery for several mainstage shows, along with various other events, presentations, and meetings including installation, safety checking, and strikes. This position will also run rehearsals, supervise, and instruct student crews in the absence of the PAC Technical Director. Additional responsibilities will include basic operation of lighting consoles, basic operation of live sound systems, and troubleshooting of any technical issues as they arise. The Assistant Technical Director must assist with maintenance and inventory of all supplies in the scene shop, control booths, and costume, prop, lighting, and audio storage spaces. Finally, this position will execute other duties as assigned by the PAC Technical Director and Huntley High School Administration. This position requires a flexible work schedule, sometimes including evenings and weekends.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Working knowledge of techniques, methods and procedures of theatre, dance, and music productions including appropriate safety precautions and procedures
2. Experienced carpentry and prop fabrication skills
3. Basic AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or other CAD drafting software
4. Knowledge of theatrical rigging practices
5. Applicants must be highly self-directed
PREFERED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Working knowledge and experience with use of ShopBot CNCs and software
2. Basic operational knowledge and understanding of ETC family lighting consoles, Yamaha family mixers, and/or BlackMagic family video switchers and encoders
3. Experience and use of Qlab and Audidante Audio systems
4. Preferred degree in Technical Theater or related field
