The Department of Theatre + Dance at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for a one-year academic staff member at the rank of Lecturer beginning in August 2024. The primary responsibilities of this position are to work as the Sound and Lighting Supervisor and Faculty Sound Designer, and to teach Sound Design, Sound Recording and Engineering, and Theatre Appreciation. The Department plans to conduct a formal search during the 2023-2024 academic year for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor in this position.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatrical production who can design sound for plays and musicals as well as supervise and coordinate technical details for both lighting and sound for all performances in our two theatre spaces. Strong skills in crew management and knowledge of software including Vectorworks, Lightwright, and Qlab required. Proven ability to design lighting preferred. Professional experience as a master electrician or sound technician, including live mixing, are also preferred.
