ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Functions
Ensures complete understanding of all production aspects of events held at contracted venues.
Supervises production and stage-related activities for performances and events at contracted venues.
Directs and coaches stage crew to ensure safety procedures are followed and proactive communication is maintained at all times
Acts in the absence of the Production Manager to address all aspects of production regarding an event
Stays up to date with all company emergency procedures, and enforce rules and regulations designed to prevent security problems or safety hazards
Responsible for the deployment and storage of sound, lighting, and stage equipment from on-site storage and rental trucks
Responsible for weekly maintenance of audio, lighting, and staging equipment, including maintaining inventory of expendables.
Additional responsibilities include communication and close coordination with the Production Manager, maintaining equipment of all types
Safety
Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority.
Reports accidents, injuries, maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party immediately
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Must have 3 years of Stage Hand experience or comparable skillset.
Experience working as a stagehand for events, concerts or theatrical productions is preferable
Must have working knowledge of how to lift and move heavy equipment with or without equipment and with or without assistance
Must have working knowledge of lighting and sound equipment
Must be able to read and understand floor plans and lighting/sound plots
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Must be able to have a working knowledge of lifting techniques and safety precautions of stage work
Must be capable of working with sound, lighting, and rigging hardware
SCHEDULE + WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be available to work lengthy hours (late nights into early morning often exceeding 12 hours per shift). THERE ARE NO GUARANTEED SHIFTS OR HOURS. SCHEDULE IS CONTINGENT UPON CONFIRMED SHOWS AND NUMBER OF CREW REQUIRED PER SHOW. The stage crew may sometimes work split shifts starting in the morning through afternoon and then returning to work after the event to load out the equipment.

Work conditions may vary depending upon the location of work and/or events; work and/or events may occur indoors and outdoors, therefore requiring exposure to a variety of elements. While working in the office, lighting and temperature are adequate with the use of standard office equipment available. While working outdoors, the work environment may involve exposure to various elements including but not limited to: sun, heat/cold, dust, pollens and other environmental risks. Event work may include exposure to moderate to extreme noise, limited lighting in areas, exposure to moving mechanical parts and exposure to high, precarious locations. Exposure to artistic expression that may seem offensive to some (written/verbal foul language, creative clothing, etc.) may also occur.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and walking for extended lengths of time. This job requires lifting, pushing, pulling, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, moving and carrying items up to 50 pounds (unassisted) and 75 pounds (with assistance). May also be required to use ladders, high scissor lifts, and the operation of equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, or other light power driven equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The use of walkie-talkies and wearing of earbud communications for long periods during events may also be required.
