**This position is to work onboard our cruise ships**
The Entertainment Fly Operator is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of all performer flying equipment in the vessel+rsquo;s main theatre and alternative entertainment venues. This includes operating and calling fly sequences during the cast production shows and theme events, and conducting regular inspections on the performer flying equipment and cast apparatus/harnesses.
The EOF will monitor and maintain organizational and industry safety standards on the operation and maintenance of performer flying systems and will also be responsible for assisting the Stage + Production Manager / Technical Director with running the Headline Entertainer shows and coordinating all stage requirements of the Headline Entertainers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Operate and maintain all performer flying elements and call performer flying cues for cast production shows.
Adhere to Celebrity safety standards, as well as meet and maintain the artistic integrity of the produced theatrical shows.
Ensures that only Head Office approved performers are using the performer flying equipment. Any requests by others to use the performer flying equipment must be approved in writing by the Head Office.
Ensure only aerial moves or stunts approved and rehearsed during the install process are being performed.
Participate in stage resets with the Entertainment Operator team.
Participate in all aerial rehearsals and training sessions.
Works with the Stage + Production Manager or Technical Director to ensure the theatre set-up is clean, organized, and showcases an appealing stage picture when the audience enters.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in theatre (focus in theatre technology or entertainment rigging) from an accredited university or equivalent experience is required.
Minimum 3 years experience in entertainment or theatrical technology work; stage hand, backstage, rigging and performer flying required.
Extensive knowledge and experience with various entertainment rigging systems, including motorized hoists and winches, is required.
Extensive knowledge of motorized performer flying systems, equipment, and safety standards.
Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse team environment to meet overall established timeframes.
Ability to communicate tactfully with coworkers and other shipboard employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to sudden changes.
Language Requirements
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and crew members.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the shipboard employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must continually lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may work at heights up to 50 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.
