Pay
$2900.00 for the contract
This position is full time with on-site residency required. A personal vehicle is strongly encouraged as we work in multiple venues.
This internship is designed to give challenging, practical experience to enhance the student's academic program, and provide a well-rounded, hands-on experience working in a face paced professional summer theatre company. Working alongside skilled carpenters and other scenic professionals will guarantee an understanding of team work and how each production department affects the final output of a project. Interns work alongside seasoned professionals, learn construction skills, participate in all areas of scenic construction, serve as run crew on all shows in a variety of positions; assist with load-ins, changeovers and participate in season strike. May be assigned to other scenic areas such as props or paint should production needs require additional hands.

Qualified applicants should be currently enrolled in an university theatre or entertainment program; have a basic knowledge of carpentry and scenic painting; have experience in set construction; a strong understanding of theatre and production practices; run crew experience and a strong willingness to learn. We look for a calm confident presence during chaotic production periods; a positive, collaborative attitude and a willingness to do what is asked to the best of your ability. Interns shouuld be self-motivated with a strong team orientation.

Work Environment:
Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and/or walking.Ability to work long hours and work with a flexible schedule.
Willingness to work in multiple venues.
May have to work at heights, small spaces, around moving machinery, and with exposure to noise, vibration, and dust.
Ability to work safely in an environment containing potentially hazardous electrical equipment, fumes, and/or materials.
