The Production Stage Manager (PSM) facilitates communication across all creative and technical departments, providing organizational support to the director, cast, designers, stage crew, and technicians. Serving as the director+rsquo;s representative during performances, the PSM ensures the production runs smoothly. This role requires ability to lead a team, follow directions, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Rehearsals
Attendance: Be present at all scheduled meetings/rehearsals.
Supervision: Manage and delegate tasks to Assistant Stage Managers (ASMs) and the Company Manager.
Space Preparation: Clean, mop, and prepare the rehearsal space daily with the ASM.
Production Meetings: Attend meetings to align with the director+rsquo;s and designers+rsquo; vision.
Scheduling: Coordinate rehearsal and costume fitting schedules with the Director, Music Director, Choreographer, and Costume Shop Manager.
Rehearsal Management: Oversee rehearsals, set breaks, and distribute daily schedules and reports.
Prompt Book: Create and maintain the prompt book, documenting all production notes, cues, blocking, and script changes.
Set Marking: Mark set dimensions on the rehearsal hall floor with the Technical Director.
Props Management: Ensure rehearsal props and furnishings are present, organized, and available.
Playbill Proofing: Provide and proofread information for the Playbill.
Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean, safe environment and record any injuries.
Communication: Create contact sheets, post schedules, and keep open communication between staff and company members.
Facility Management: Open and lock the facility daily.
Marketing and Interviews: Schedule and coordinate promotional needs.

Performances
Show Oversight: Oversee the entire show for each performance.
Call Times: Set and communicate call times to company members.
Safety Checks: Inspect the set, stage floor, props, and furniture before each performance with the ASM and run crew.
Cues: Call all cues during the performance.
Run Sheets: Create run sheets for wardrobe, prop, and scenic changes to guide the crew with the help of the ASM and Costume Shop Manager.
Front of House: Coordinate with front-of-house staff before, during intermission, and after performances.
Emergency Management: Assist in executing plans for emergencies such as fire or severe weather.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Broad knowledge of technical theatre.
Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, and Calendar for documentation and collaboration.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail, scheduling, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and resolve problems creatively.
Leadership skills, including the ability to take charge during crises.
Flexibility to work long hours and within short rehearsal periods.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
