The Stitcher works under the direction of the Costume Shop Manager and Costume Designer to execute costumes for each production. Responsibilities include stitching, finishing, altering, and maintaining costumes and accessories while ensuring the workspace is organized and safe. This role requires ability to follow directions, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Costume Construction: Sew and finish assigned costumes by machine or hand. Assist with cutting, measuring, assembling, and building costumes.
Fittings and Alterations: Assist with fittings and perform alterations or other assigned costume duties.
Costume Maintenance: Maintain and repair costumes during productions. Organize and store costumes and accessories.
Production Support: Assist with the strike and proper storage of costumes after each production.
Workspace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Collaboration and Reporting: Report any issues with deadlines, materials, or equipment to the Costume Shop Manager or Costume Designer.
Additional Tasks: Complete other duties as assigned by the Costume Shop Manager, Costume Designer, or Technical Director.

Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in machine and hand sewing techniques.
Proficiency in operating commercial and industrial sewing machines.
Strong garment construction skills.
Ability to follow precise instructions and meet deadlines.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
